Welcome to MAAGI!

The Midwestern African American Genealogy Institute (MAAGI) will provide an educational training for the learning methods and strategies of exploring African ancestored family history.  The classes at MAAGI will be lead by faculty members who have already demonstrated their knowledge in a number of subject areas, and who have already demonstrated their leadership in the exploration of African ancestored family history research.

Harris-Stowe State University, known as a leader in training educators, has agreed to be the host institution and the base of this historic institute.  Harris-Stowe State University, traces its roots to the historic Stowe Teachers College which has been producing African American educators for over 100 years. The university is  dedicated to training and those who wish to enhance their own skills in the arena of African American Family History, will find that MAAGI will provide the training and guidance to expand their skills.

Participants in this inaugural event will choose from several tracks in which they will immerse themselves for several days.

MAAGI will begin on Tuesday July 9th and will conclude on Thursday July 11th. Check this site and bookmark this page for updates as they are posted.

See you in St. Louis!
